A reply to a letter from a reader seeking some advice on development after a spiritual experience that came as a surprise!

Thank you for sharing your partners thoughts and experiences with me. I know it’s not easy to talk about these things if you don’t have friends or family who are familiar with spiritualism.

My first reaction was “how fantastic - some people would give anything to be in his shoes!”

My question to you is: Since this happened last year has he got a lot of information from his guide? It's a simple thing [easy when you know how] to get to know a new friend very well - once we have set up a communications link – and I hope he is doing that! Our guides come to assist us only when they know we are ready, so I know he was a willing volunteer!

If you could describe a bit more about what happened I would be able to say better what is the best course of action to take regarding his spiritual development; perhaps you could ask him to write it down – like in a diary?

As to the developing of this wonderful gift, if you feel you would like some ‘earthly’ help I would recommend finding out where all the spiritualist churches are in your area, and going to each one in turn to see if they feel good to you both. Then ask about classes or “Open Circles” to go to. It is most important to find the church that you are happy in, this is because the spirit works on the loving vibrations and disharmony is preventing this.

Before you can attend “Awareness and Development” classes as they are called, it is usual to have to join a church [maybe£5 or so] this is so that only the serious students join, its only fair.

To find churches look in the local paper or…. On my site is a READING FOR ALL LIST - top right hand side of the main page -where you will find a directory for churches all over the UK.

If this is not attractive I would say go through your guide / door keeper and set up a regular time and day to communicate with them – this is what I did and it served me well when this was the only option.

Methods of doing this for beginners is on the website – look on ‘Articles’ at ‘Lessons’ and ‘Teaching’ to see what you think. Meditating with the "Silver Screen" method is there. It is good if you both are going to do this together because as it says in the Bible “…When two or three are gathered…” the power is so much stronger.

My friend, it matters not if you are in any way what YOU regard as helpful in this matter, as long as you can lend yourself and your time to be an ‘energy battery’ for your partner. Just say in your mind a little prayer letting the spirit friends know if you would [or not] like to develop yourself, they always accept help from good people and our reward is knowing we are of assistance to them.

For years my husband Don sat with me just to help my development, and he didn’t get anything much in the way of progression either! He’s always been a healer and is satisfied with that.
