The first letter is about counseling and the second is
regarding insurance when you wish to do healing.
Dear Stella
I'd be grateful if you would please tell me the difference
between spiritual counselling and psychic counselling.
Many thanks
Pam.
-----------------
Dear Pam,
A counselor is a trained person with qualifications that you can ask to see.
A psychic is not in touch with the spiritual world so is - I presume - giving counselling
from his / hers self, and what qualifications might they have?
A Minister might also call themselves a
'spiritual counselor' when they have qualifications, but are not
communicating with the spirit world in the way that a spiritualist
medium does, which is directly.
A spiritual counselor [medium] is only giving counsel from the spirit world if the
process of identifying the spirit communicator has been done, just as you would see
in a church.
... and then the question is - does that spirit know you well enough to give counselling? Guides and helpers are not evidential as we often cannot verify their identification.
... or more to the point do you know any of these people well enough to trust them
either in the spirit world or this one?
You can tell, I expect, that I am very dubious because anyone can set themselves up as a 'counselor',
and the average person knows no better than to accept anything said. The motive there is either ego and/or money.
I constantly get students who tell me horrific details of mis-information from so-called counselors ...
it's very sad that lives can be upset in this way.
What is the answer? Go to a recognised spiritualist medium and use the information wisely, nobody can tell us what to do, it takes away our free will.
An old saying from my solicitor is "Verbal advice isn't worth the paper its written on" !
Hint: Ask the counselor if they are prepared to write down their advice / counsel in a professional manner, and if they say "no" you know they will not stand by it as genuine and evidential.
Regards
Stella
Hello
Stella....... A happy and healthy New Year to you firstly.!
I
wonder if you can advise me.
I am a Reiki Master but this
last year I have been working with a spirit team and they do some amazing work
either with my hands on or off.
Now
I could just call this Reiki or I could call it Spiritual healing.....but I
have no pieces of paper to verify this........how would the NFSH [National
Federation of Spiritual Healers] look at this ......and would I have to go
through there training to be considered kosher ?
It
may be that I do nothing … but I just wanted your opinion as you are in the Spiritualist
movement.
Dear friend,
Happy New Year to you too!!
About insurance...
You can call yourselves anything at all, and do whatever you wish to anyone at
all - till someone decides their expectations have not been met - gets
cross - and decides to sue you.
Then if you don't have insurance you're up the creek!! You can loose your house
in the expense of hiring a solicitor just to get out of trouble. I know this
has happened to people in the past.
Does the 'clinic' or group called Rose Cottage have their own insurance - if
not why not?
Is the property you are practicing in rented or private?
Is there any public liability insurance?
What if there is an accident at the property, eg somebody has a trip up a step
and falls, before even having treatment?
Are you affiliated with any qualified body yourself - join their insurance at
once!
If you are a Reiki master you should be able to take out insurance through
their professional bodies, and the other people should do the same, but if the
others are not qualified and don't have insurance it will be very difficult for
you not to get involved with the court case.
Spiritual Healing Insurance is taken [as far as I know] only through a church,
its a complicated subject and there are good reasons for this. And as a
spiritual healer, through any church at all, you only have insurance if you
have their training, mine was with the SNU and that can only function on
their property.
Is there a person for a chaperon at all times?
Children and people who are not regarded as mentally competent must have an
attending adult with them - you need to get some disclaimer forms for people to
sign if you are not sure of their ages etc...It is easy to disturb a person’s
arthritis simply by helping them into a chair!
It sounds as if this group is ‘ad hoc’ and amateur. Just because there is no
charge it doesn't mean that you are not liable if something untoward happens …
unless they are a registered charity as is the church, in which case the church
will have their own insurance. Do they ask for donations? What about the costs
of electricity in the future? What are their intentions about that kind of
thing?
If you decide to do nothing and you are still there when treatment is carried
out you still might be liable for any damages.
I would pop down to the Citizens Advice Bureau and ask a solicitor just to
be sure, and get any forms that might be useful to you all.
It is not easy opening a clinic for the professional and there might never be a
problem, but spirit are very firm about personal responsibility, they will not
take it away from us, so don’t just think that “spirit will take care of it”!
My motto is "Wear your belt and braces to hold up your trousers in
public" !!
Hope this helps you,
Regards
Stella
