GUIDES AND HELPERS
What
do you know of this subject?
We
understand through the communications from the spirit world that these beings
are old souls of a very evolved state, whose purpose now is to help other
spirits who have, a) chosen to re-enter the world of the physical [us] and b)
other interested parties in the spirit world, [perhaps family and friends.]
I
often see these assistants grouped behind the guide/s.
Remember,
the spirit people all need, yearn even, to progress just as we do in order to achieve
that more advanced evolved state, and to assist this completion they give all
the assistance they possibly can to the spirits who are just now carrying out
their own personal tasks.
Why?
In order to fulfil the path of progression, that yearning to ‘get home again’
i.e. back to our Creator.
For
many people, in all walks of life, wherever they are on this beautiful
planet we call Earth, these spirit guides have become essential to the
navigation of the twists and turns of the spiritual path. They willingly
provide advice as we search for knowledge and enlightenment, as well as comfort
us when we look into the deep and painful crevices of our earthly lives.
Basically, they are very good to have around!
For these reasons and more, guides have become very popular in the last 30 or
40 years. As the New Age bloomed, we often gave them the responsibility of
leading us in the right direction (yes, even into the next available parking
space ... me too!)
Spiritual
meetings were and still are peppered with sharing that begins: ‘My guide says…’
or ‘My guide suggests that I…’ I hear this from students, and the confidence by
which these sayings are given speaks plenty about our progression in accepting
this way of thinking.
This
is fine, as long as we have not given away our own power, our personal
responsibility, by becoming wholly reliant on ‘heavenly counsel’, what we see
as a wise but is still an outside influence.
We
also need to be sure of this source, and that what we’re receiving is in our
highest interests. It is not unheard of to find that spirits of a lowly
intellectual capacity [some call them 'lost souls'] link in and are
still liking too much the sound of their own unenlightened repetitive
voices! As it says in the Bible “By their fruits may they be known.”
Many
warnings have I given on this subject!
Assuming we’ve checked out the guide’s authenticity, we walk hand-in-hand in
the contentment that comes with all good companionship, in the physical or
otherwise. We talk and listen to our guides in meditation, perhaps when we’re
lying in bed a night. It just seems natural to share our innermost thoughts and
concerns with these very special spirit friends, and quite often these gentle
communications are the beginning of the clairvoyant awareness for so many
folks.
When
my long-term relationship began with my own personal guide, some people say
guardian angel, I saw him from that perspective – a wonderful friend and spirit
that lived in the etheric world and upon whom I could call at any time. I
should add that I’m talking here of the personal guide to whom we feel a
powerful and intimate connection, our ‘door keeper’.
We
all have helpers and guides that come and go as their help is needed, a whole
entourage of guides supplying specialist advice on a multitude of matters. But
that’s not the same and the one and only doorkeeper. This relationship is built
up over time; just as any other friendship, learning to trust is not achieved
quickly, but built up over consistent communications, so keep it up!
Can we take in another concept here? Perhaps a startling piece of revelation.
Our door keeper and ourselves are one and the same person. The term of our
‘higher self’ might be familiar to you here.
If we can accept that The Great White Spirit / God is part
of us and that we are part of Him, then it becomes more understandable that our
soul groups, guides and helpers also are part of us, indeed actually within us,
and [take that a little bit further] actually are us, just temporarily divided
till we all return to God.
In other words, as we develop spiritually and expanded our boundaries beyond
any present limitations, we begin to merge first with those nearest and dearest
to us, with our guides, in that final process of ‘oneness’. You know this
feeling of oneness when you fall in love, when you have an affinity with
another soul; a good example is seeing your baby for the first time. They are a
part of you, of us, of the spirit family, of the eternal Great Spirit.
To
a mediumistic person this also can be felt now, particularly when channeling,
because it is a love connection. This is what happens when ‘overshadowing’ is
taking place, during clairvoyance, an address or healing – it’s loving
guidance.
Where
would we be without them?
In all this, the important thing to know is that we exist beyond the limited
concepts of our present state. The more we humans evolve, the more will we be
able to let go of the rigid inhibitors of our earthly minds, and understand how
much we really can know, and how much we really can be.
Many
times we have used the gifts of our human potential without recognizing them
and in so doing have taken them for granted.
The
voice of the higher self is one of those gifts we have taken for granted. It is
our soft and subtle voice that comes to alert us to potential dangers or calmly
helps us find our keys after we have madly searched the house.
Higher
self is also the voice of our higher reason and our creative inspiration. When
we hear our own subtle voice of inspiration, it becomes our choice to listen
and follow through with the message or deny it. Denying it usually produces the
consequence of us regretting the outcome, knowing we could have altered it by
taking the suggested prudent action.
When
we afford ourselves a moment to stop the mind's constant mental chatter, it
reverts to a state of quiet calmness or inactivity. This calmness or inactivity
has a benefit that promotes receptivity. When we recognize the moment we attain
this mentally quiet state and how we ventured into it, it can be refined into a
heightened state of receptivity that becomes more familiar and easier to
access.
Our
guides and helpers are always there to assist us in this.
I
look forward to the day we can all say, “I knew that!”
