As each day goes onward

I pray that I will see

Just all the happy moments

That come to you and me.

The moments we must cherish

As time goes, day by day,

The moments that we surely know

Will never wash away.

I have a happy storehouse

Of all the things we've done

I have no sad memories at all

Of chances ever gone.

Oh Lord let me not wander

Into sadder climes

Let me only stay a while

with loving thoughts in time.

And I shall make a promise

To honour and to find

All the happy pictures

Engraved upon my mind.
