I have put the picture above because this is how I see it - it's the missing piece!
I am often asked what does "Spiritual Healing actually do?" Well, it doesn't act as a 'magic' bullet to take away all our problems, that's for sure!
What it does do is bring us closer to our Spirituality, our Maker, through our willingness to let the spirit within us open up to energies that we are requesting to be let into our lives. The very act of asking for help / healing does this, and there is a basic rule about why we have to make this important step.
Here it is: Everybody [in the spirit world or not] has to have permission to do anything for us in any way - and that included healing, it is not possible for the spirit world to do anything that would go against this rule, our basic rights would be breached, permission or freewill would have been removed.
Yes, in the spirit world they are ‘in tune’ with the Civil Rights Laws of only too recent years! In fact they invented this basic law and WE have been slow in catching up with their thinking!
We cannot get around the freewill aspect by saying, “let God take over!” This is refusing to take responsibility for ourselves. Perhaps we might think that letting God make our decisions for us would be safe?
No, we have still made a conscious decision; we have decided to do nothing! Anyway, why should He do all our character building for us? What would be the whole point of creating our beautiful lives full of opportunity and love if God were only going to take over when it suited Him? He has not the human failings of ego.
Providing the request is made in the right way, not a dare or challenge, but with a humble heart, it is not abdicating any responsibility it is allowing the assistance of a higher power no matter what we call it, in effect we are saying to that higher power, "Thy will be done."
Not forgetting that the help from the spirit world is assisting the progression of those spirit helpers too.
Prayer is the way foreword, the act of prayer does all of the above, it opens the door of the spirit within to receive that assistance we so sorely need, shame on us that our pride so often delays us from making that ultimate cry “Lord help me in my hour of need!”
We only have to overcome the false reasoning that we can do everything ourselves, and understand that we were made to accept love, for in love we were created, and in love we will ultimately find our salvation. Selflessness brings the same response in the spirit world, and that’s another basic law of the universe, like attracting like.
It would not be true to say it will bring foreword all the goodness in all our fellow human beings, I’m sorry to say, for they are not all in the same state of progression, but it will attract others to that shining light, and we will recognise the corresponding light when we see it!
You might say there is a danger that this giving of love out into the world might be mistaken for gullibility, that the hunter might mistake us for prey, again this is where prayer comes in, asking for protection negates any false impression that we who are living the life of spiritual attunement are willing to be victims!
I can testify to this with personal experience. Let me tell you about it. I was with a group of friends at a rally organised by the evangelical church some years ago and I was very uplifted by the loving atmosphere of those meetings over the holiday period camping in Wales.
It was at the outdoor picnic being held in a park with access for all, and I was standing apart with a young friend, when a man broke away from a group of rowdy young bikers near by who were causing uproar with water guns filled from the river close by.
As the minister was holding everyone’s attention my friend, who was holding a very small and new baby became suddenly extremely fearful.
A large young man in black leathers was advancing towards us in a menacing way with an enormous water gun! My first instinct was to stand in front of her, and on reflection I could not have prevented anything happening in time, as the others were quite a way off.
So quickly man was standing in front of me with my friend and her tiny baby hiding behind me.
Then the most amazing thing happened, he stopped dead still with his face frozen [I’ll never forget it] and with the gun half raised, he suddenly looked extremely puzzled, lowered the gun, and without a word turned and walked off!
We were both very relieved and a bit puzzled about what had happened. If he had his own company watching him I can’t remember because I was not focussing or his troubles, but the years have gone by and I now know through our spirit friends that the light of love came in between us and him, and through it he could not see foreword, so he turned and left in embarrassment.
All I can say of the matter is that spirit helpers will find a way as soon as we give them permission to help us.
So, healing a situation /spirit / body / whatever, is instigated by our act of asking. It cannot happen otherwise. That healing might come in a form we can readily see, or it might not.
In his books the famous healer Harry Edwards states clearly that the healer cannot say how or why some are ‘healed’ and others seem not to be, and gives some sad examples of this. It is too easy to say that healing takes place where we cannot see, but I know from many other healers that the passing is always made a little easier to the next stage of our lives.
Our paths are sometimes long and hard, the lessons we need not always to our liking, but one thing is certain, help is there for the asking and providing it does not obstruct our learning process His will is done.
Amen, let it be so.
The rose by any other name is still a rose. We can ask in any way for help.
