Spirit Photography
For interesting photographs
of evidence see 'Reading for all' on the top right of the Home Page - "This is Spiritualism" by M Barbanell .
Can you see the extra image in the photo above? This is how the first photographs of spirit people were seen, by accident!
Spirit photography is an interesting subject and covers many different aspects - from the recording of spirits faces by arrangement with that world, to 'accidental' relatives turning up on family professional photos since the Victorian age [when a camera was a very special piece of expensive - but simpler equipment.]
The popularity of the subject caused many sleazy characters to profit from the ignorance at that time - did you know that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and the famous magician Houdini became good friends through their determination to uncover such people, and came across the genuine spirit mediums, so were convinced of the truth themselves!
'Orbs'
The orb is interpreted as evidence of spirit ability to influence the technical equipment so giving evidence in this way, by seeing a round light [or other shape] on the picture. But others call them technical faults and say bright lights reflected in an area where the photo is being taken can create them. This is usually in an indoor situation.
There is a sometimes confusing notion that different colors of orbs are created by what circumstances or mood the person is in at that time, this might come from the limited knowledge of aura photography, which we believe are Dependant on these factors.
A family photo at my home was taken around a camp fire that had no chance of these other factors that we could see, and so we all are convinced for ourselves that the orb was indeed genuine - there was no reflective surfaces to refract the light - and the purpose of this was proof for that person, who understood the significance.
What do you think about all this? Have you got any strange photos of lights in odd places in your collection?
Images are constantly being recorded by the computer, and I have no doubt that the future will bring much better Spirit communications through this media, be it photography or other ...
I look forward to that day, don't you?
Have you seen the advert for a film on this subject recently?

Exercise for the student
Purpose - to help spirit contact through the use of pictorial imagery.
You might like to:
A] Use an old photo of a relative you wish to find out more about.
I used an old photo of a wedding with one person in a different hat to all the others, and asked about her.
If you don't have an actual photo use a symbol / image / object belonging to a person.
You could even draw a stick person with a feature that makes sense to you e.g. work clothes or jewelery.
B] Do you wish to learn more about your own 'door -keeper' or personal guide? Picture the image, or draw an outline, and fill it in with information as it comes to you.
C] Another subject might be an object that's lost in your house.
First focus on …
1] The object / person
2] Think about them - looking at the outline or photo - picture the object.
3] Ask a question, "Who are you?" /“Where are you?”
4] Let the image build itself up while you watch, then look at the clothes they are wearing / the place it is situated what is near by etc ....
Practice this in your spare time.
All the information you glean will be stored in your mind and used later perhaps for more proof by a medium at a later date.
The use of image is exercising the mind and helping to focus the brain waves, this is very important because spirit people need tools to work with, and the pictorial image is the simplest.
When you next sit in a circle the images you have practiced using will be brought forward again where appropriate, and so help get any message across, it's short-hand or metaphor, you are building a library.
For example flowers have meaning, colors have meaning, your relatives job or clothes dress when brought forward will stimulate your interpretation for your recipient.
End.
[I notice the spell check is the American version on the site now - if you were wondering?]
