………………
Q7. If you experience Subjective Clairvoyance, how do you personally, know that what you are seeing is clairvoyance and not your imagination - do you have any advice for developing mediums on how to tell the difference?
'It's just a feeling that you are not alone in your mind - as though someone else is with you'
'When I have contact from spirit it usually starts with something totally unrelated to what I was previously thinking about'
'Sometimes the only way I know it is clairvoyance and not my imagination is by telling whoever is with me what I am seeing and getting confirmation that way'
'I ask them who they are and get quite clear answers - I don't even consider that it could be my imagination'
'If I think it is my imagination I ask for further information so that I can give it to the sitter and get confirmation'
'My imagination feels flat in comparison to the images I get from spirit'
'I know it is not my imagination when I see things that are not within my frame of reference - such as symbols or people I do not know personally'
'Usually if it is not my imagination the visions or images are accompanied by other physical, mental or emotional sensations that tell me it is not my imagination'
'I get thoughts and memories that I know are not mine - and therefore cannot be my imagination'
'Ask yourself .... "why did I come up with this particular image for this person out of all the trillions of images I could possibly have chosen?".
'When you see an image just open your mouth and start describing what you see. If it is your imagination it will soon dry up but if the images are being given to you by spirit you will get more and more, stronger and more accurate information'
'The images I see are accompanied by other types of messages such as feelings or words - this helps me distinguish between my imagination and clairvoyance'
'Constantly practice with your friends and family on a one to one basis and this will help you to learn what is your own imagination and what is clairvoyance - it's harder to read for people you know and spirit have to give you information you know nothing about in order to get confirmation'
'If I am not sure whether it is my imagination or spirit I try to change what I am seeing - if it is my imagination it is easy to change the image - if the image is being given by spirit it is not possible to change the image'
'The only advice I can think to give is to join a development circle so that you are with people who understand and can help you to distinguish between imagination and clairvoyance'
'Distinguishing between imagination and clairvoyance is one of the most frustrating aspects to developing - all you can do is give out the information you receive and pray you don't look silly' (and so say all of us!)
'The more you practice your clairvoyance the more you see that thoughts that come through from spirit feel different to those of your own imagination'
'Don't dismiss what you see as a random thought - give out what you see'
'I actually feel a sensation on the crown of my head when it is clairvoyance - so I suggest that people watch out for sensations they can recognise for themselves to distinguish between imagination and clairvoyance'
'I sometimes receive images in cryptic form which I cannot understand but which my client can - and therefore it cannot be my imagination
'I accept that once I have begun a session with a sitter that everything I receive is from spirit - if the sitter cannot take the information immediately I ask them to investigate or watch out for what I have given them'
'All you can do is 'trust' whilst you are working that the images you see are from spirit and not your imagination' 'If I cannot manipulate what I see then I know that it is not my imagination'
…………………..
Q8. We are told we need to 'tune' in to spirit - some say up and some say down - what does 'tune' in mean and how do we do it? (This is possibly one of the greatest areas of confusion for beginners judging by the amount of e-mail's the survey as received).
'To tune in is to be aware that you are in the process of making contact with spirit'
'To tune is to be allow the mind to become focused on the contact experience and to acknowledge mentally that you are in contact - this starts a two way conversation'
'Tuning in to me is getting my mind ready - I see it like making a call on the phone to my guides and helpers asking them to come close to me and join me in working together'
'Tuning into spirit is being able to open and expand both your consciousness and your aura'
'Its a state of quietness in the mind allowing the mind to blend with the thoughts of spirit'
'To tune into spirit I usually sit quietly for a few minutes and ask that spirit draw close'
'To try to force a connection is detrimental ... relax and ask for spirit contact'
'Tuning in takes place when one offers oneself as an instrument that can be used to help another soul'
'Tuning in means speeding up you spiritual vibrations to come closer to those of spirit people who vibrate at a much faster rate than we do'
'By working consciously to relax the body with a visualisation you enable yourself to tune in'
'Tuning in simply means to use a subconscious 'trigger' you have developed which speeds up the process of opening up to spirit'
'When I tune into spirit I always offer up a prayer and my say to spirit that I am 'open for business'
'Tuning in can be as simple or as complicated as the mind set of the medium'

Q9. How do you know that a Spirit is a Parent, Grandparent, Sibling, Friend etc. of the sitter?
'If it is a mother/father/brother/sister etc I see a brief glimpse of my own mother/father/brother/sister etc'
'I ask males to stand to the right and females to the left'
'I more often get the names of people rather than an indication of what the relationship to the sitter is'
'I don't know how I know - I just know'
'I simply ask and they tell me'
'I have to describe the person I am seeing and ask my sitter who they are'
'I describe who I am seeing and leave it to the sitter to identify the communicator'
'I ask spirit to use a 'family tree' to let me know who is communicating'
'It's just a feeling so strong that I say it before I have time to think about it'
'I don't know - I find out via personal information that is given to my sitter from spirit'
'I just trust my first impressions as to what the relationship is'

Q10. Has your perception of your clairvoyant images remained the same during your development or has it changed and if so, in what way?
'My clairvoyant images have very slowly become clearer as I have developed - in the beginning they were very fuzzy and I couldn't seem to 'lock' onto the images but now they are much clearer and seem to be getting better all the time'
'When I first began development all I saw was the odd flash of an image. This changed into clearer pictures and now they are like a screen playing on the inside of my mind'
'I am more aware of what is happening and less likely to ignore the images I see'
'Rather than my clairvoyance changing, I have developed more gifts such as clairaudience and clairsentience'
'My perception has changed many times, but this is all part of the learning, growing and development process'
'When I was first developing I only saw with my mind (subjectively) now years later I see them outside of myself with my physical eyes (objectively)'
'The more confident I became in myself the better my clairvoyance became'
'I used to see just static images but now I see moving images'
'The images haven't changed much but my confidence in what I am seeing has'
'I have learnt that if I do not understand an image I can ask for further information or if I missed something then I can ask for it to be shown again'
Q11. What do you think is the difference between a ghost and a spirit?
'A spirit is an entity whom a medium can make direct contact with and receive information from. I believe that a ghost can be likened to a 'recording' which can be constantly replayed over and over again'
'I don't think there is a difference between a ghost and a spirit'
'I don't believe in ghosts, I believe in spirits. Ghosts are just what people in movies or fearful people perceive them to be'
'Is there a difference?'
