TRANCE MEDIUMSHIP

Trance Channelling is first and foremost a means of communication. A very fair comparison can be drawn between common television and radio signal receptions and Trance Channelling.

But since the most commonly used interactive, or two way, communications today takes place through the telephone, we will start by comparing the person doing the Trance Channelling to this.

The Medium goes into a trance by altering the state of consciousness, this is another state as is sleep or day-dreaming, but the brain waves go down through various stages and stop where the spirit guides and helpers may contact that part of the Medium that ‘sees’ or ‘hears’ them i.e. Clairvoyance. There are other kinds of contact such as feeling etc.

Both the Trance Channel and the telephone are instruments. One instrument is telephonic and the other instrument is telepathic, [not in the sense that they can ‘read’ minds - which is very rare indeed!] In both cases the instrument receives a signal of sorts, the instrument then converts the signal to a pattern recognizable by the recipient.

In the case of a telephone that pattern is sound, usually the spoken word. With a Trance Channel, the communication patterns reproduced from the spirit world may include speech, handwriting, typing, facial expressions, body language, and any other pattern of communication that the human body is capable of, we don’t know how the mediums mind does this interpretation as yet! It is believed that the pineal and pituitary glands of the endocrine system are used. That is for the future to tell!

Telephones are beginning to include video patterns as well as speech. Extending that scenario, it is probably quite descriptive to refer to a Trance Channel as a consciousness phone. Yes, the medium through which Trance Channelled communications propagate is consciousness, and this communication is simultaneous regardless of the apparent distance across space, space-time, time, or between different dimensions.

From time to time, I think the nature of Trance Channelling should be revisited for the benefit of those who are newcomers to the study of consciousness in mediumship. Succeeding generations view phenomena and concepts usually with greater and greater openness and awareness. The Berlin Wall, slavery, and the concept of a flat world have all fallen. People in this century can fly across the country or around the world, not because the laws of physics have changed because men and women have simply changed their minds about what is possible. With the open attitude there are only the limits of the imagination!

For those of a scientific leaning asking “What about the speed of light?� it is not applicable as a limitation. Even currently accepted ideas about quantum physics suggest that atomic particles are aware of what other atomic particles are doing, so to speak, simultaneously regardless of distance. However, an understanding of the principals of quantum physics is certainly not necessary to the understanding and enjoyment of Trance Channelling.

DEEP TRANCE

The very deep trance state is used for manifestation, the forming of ectoplasm, some Mediums during this deep state are totally unaware of what is going on and have an assistant who acts as ‘master of ceremonies’. This is a deep trance and is yet another step further on than we are used to seeing in church for mental mediumship which we call ‘over-shadowing’.

For this special kind of mediumship the meeting room has to be in darkness, and no disturbance can take place because the sudden ‘bringing back’ of the spirit of the medium [who has been taken temporarily to one side by the guides] might be harmful. For manifestation of the ectoplasm to form into a whole spirit person, the medium is usually in a ‘box’ this is mostly in the form of a screened curtain, like a changing cubicle in a dress shop. This is only to ensure the certain safety – belt and braces you might say!

Another way is the formation of ectoplasm only over the face of the medium and for that s/he in full view of the congregation, [but still ‘away’ in the trance state]. So we can all see this clearly a coloured light is shining on the face, but no white light because for reasons we do not fully understand this unwanted by the spirit ‘scientists’. In the Church at Morley near Leeds I and my husband were very fortunate to see our relatives in this way years ago, I’m sorry to say that I cannot remember the name of the medium at that time.

For obvious reasons a meeting of this kind in total darkness need to have only people in the room with no problems in this department, we waited patiently while the assistant asked the person who was suffering from claustrophobia to leave, the sure knowledge of that problem could only have come from the spirit realms, as the person was not easily persuaded to own up!

So you will find that mostly these meetings are held in private, but should you have a opportunity and you are not troubled by sitting in the total darkness, then do take the opportunity to see this marvellous mediumship that has been so neglected recently.
