WHAT SCIENTISTS AND PIONEERS DISCOVERED ABOUT SPIRIT COMMUNICATION The physical universe itself is made up of molecules, which are suspended within certain parameters of etheric vibrations, so the etheric structure acts as a sort of ‘blue-print’ [or template] for anything that is going to come into existence on the material plain. The etheric waves or vibrations, which permeate the non-material part of creation, [spirit world] far exceed this physical universe in their speed and number of vibrations, and these etheric waves that contain, as we have said, material atoms, vibrate between 400 to 700 billion times a second; and there are between 35,000 to 65,000 waves to a square inch. The parameters for the physical world only constitute a relatively insignificant part of the complete etheric world. Etheric waves continue to increase in vibration far beyond the physical, and only the eyes which belong to the spiritual body are able to see the life which is beyond the perception of the physical senses, i.e. physical sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch. The spiritual body also has a much more sensitized system for experiencing this [clairvoyance]. When the senses of the spiritual body are never used they become insensitive, atrophied, [but may be brought into use with help from the spirit world.]
Many previously sceptical scientists have studied the phenomena of communication between physical life and intelligent non-physical life, and the world which transcends and encompasses both the physical and the etheric worlds, namely the existence of spirit. They have made studies and investigations into the existence of unseen inhabitants of the World beyond the material, and also into the communication between non-physical life and those in the flesh; and these investigators have made positive statements to confirm that they must admit to the existence of the phenomena. Positive results concerning the phenomena of intelligent and sentient spirit-communication have been found and claimed by: Sir Oliver Lodge, Sir William Barrett, Lord Raleigh, Sir Archibald Geikie, Sir J.J. Thompson, Professor Gilbert Murray, Professor William James, Dr. Hyslop, the French physiologist Richet (who devoted 30 years of his life to study the phenomena), and Professor Henri Bergman. It is on record that in 11th August 1928, Dr. R.J. Tillyard, F.R.S., Entomologist-in-Chief to the Commonwealth of Australia, wrote in a letter concerning his investigation into the communication between people or beings in "Spirit-life" (spirits or souls) and beings bound by the flesh (humans) to Sir Oliver Lodge the following: "...It seems to me quite impossible to find a single flaw in this wonderful result...but my object is to record scientifically that they do occur (communications between this world and another), that they are part of the phenomena of Nature, and that Science, which is the search of Truth and for knowledge, can only ignore them at the deadly peril of its own future existence as a guiding force for the world...‿ And "...These findings are, for me, the culminating point of all my psychical research. I can now say, if I so desire, 'Nunc Dimittis', and go on with my own legitimate entomological work..." Arthur Findlay, founder of the investigative college, [which he bequeathed to the Union of Spiritualists,] was a shrewd financier, part-time physicist and Scottish Magistrate, he writes after 14 years of scientifically investigating communication between the two worlds... "...I have required a knowledge of economics and mathematics in my business life, and, outside of this, my special interest has been in physics. I have therefore approached this subject in a matter of fact (factual) way, and have obtained information which makes the phenomena (of Spirit-communication), to any unbiased person, both reasonable and natural..." "Time and Tide", a paper of that day, writes concerning a study of Mr. Findlay's research... "...Difficult though the acceptance of the evidence may be …….Mr Findlay is a notable witness, a leading man in a city of no small renown for hard-headedness and sound sense, a witness not to be denied... " Acknowledgement of the phenomena by some people from other walks of life is given by: Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Lord Tennyson, R.L. Stevenson, W.E. Gladstone, W.T. Stead, the Earl of Balfour, Bishop Boyd Carpenter, Archdeacon Colley, Rev. G. Vale Owen. It is unreasonable if the phenomena of spirit manifestation should be denied from an uninformed position, and so must be discounted by those who have sought to make truth their own, and fair judgement with genuine and sincere investigation. By the same method, a person who has never studied the inspired works of Shakespeare could say that he did not write the words: "Ignorance is the curse of God; knowledge is the wing wherewith we fly to Heaven."
