HOW TO GET THE MOST OUT OF PRAYER Prayer can be a private thing in the home, or communal in the church, it is both thanking and requesting things, both for others and ourselves. But whatever or wherever you are most of all prayer is love - this is the key. Prayer is the ladder upon which ordinary people have learned to climb from human selfishness into the great calm controlled state of being, which causes them to be called saints or masters. How do we ordinary people become masters or saints? By starting to master our own selves, by self-discipline and ruling the emotions, by a will which grows stronger with use. WHY do we pray? To centre the self and align with the Great Spirit, and because we are in trouble … even non believers! Prayer is an expression of love for The Father, The Great White Spirit, Almighty God or any other name we can give The Creator. It’s also an expression of love for those we pray for. Without love we are literally nothing, because that's the stuff we're made out of, God's love - His substance. We are miserable creatures living in a void, closed off from our source and inspiration, who is that God. There is no need here to define the Deity, suffice it to say that S/he hears us all. When we don't know what to ask for, the best thing to do is talk to the Holy Spirit; we will be understood even if we only groan in pain. It is emotions, feelings that get through, love is an abstract concept that has no word in some languages. But the feeling is there and has an energy all of it's own - regardless! To address a person or deity might be strange to some, maybe you were not brought up in the way of natural praying together with your family, and some people feel it is a private thing. Sincerity is another key to unlocking our communication chanels, the words however said in leisure or haste pale to insignificance when sincerity is there. As Spiritual beings, if we are aware of some part of the spirit world, then we know that 'they' are going to arrive quickly when we start to feel prayerful, but don't think that the spirit people know everything about the entire universe, they are still evolving on the path of progression too. So address a prayer to a friend in the spirit world you feel confident will pass it onto the right quarters, maybe your guardian angel, or talk direct to Him - it matters not, and guides and their helpers are always available. Selfish wants that are a long way from actual needs must bore the spiritual socks off our guides and helpers! Obviously a mature attitude saves time. Asking for improvement in our physical, mental, and spiritual beings and for our friends and family, [extend that out to the country to our planet and universe,] is asking for more love. There is no way that we can receive anything else but love, for god is nothing else, and he always hears our prayers regardless of our doubt. So what do we receive in return for this prayer? ……………………Love. But for this to be truly effective, we also need to be remembering who and where we are. We are vibrations of spirit inside the material, not the other way around. The car is not driving the person! We are creations of light, and we can learn to expand that light with awareness, in order to pass on the light to others. We all need to be aware of the path of progression and our position on it. Prayer is the ladder upon which ordinary people have learned to climb from human selfishness into the great calm controlled state of being, which causes them to be called saints or masters. To centre the self, and align with the Great Spirit, and because we are in trouble, [even non-believers!] QUESTIONS: Why do we have to ask for what we want if God knows our every thought? Because we need to overcome these selfish things and only be asking for help may we acknowledge that we cannot rely on our ego, the self is then overcome. WHEN do we pray? Morning to be set up for the day. Bedtime - to get answers overnight In church, open circles, etc In times of trouble At mealtimes WITH WHOM do we pray? Individually In groups (church, meetings, open circ[e) As a nation or the world HOW do we pray? Kneeling, standing, walking. Just talking naturally. In silence or out loud. Automatically sometimes (The Lords Prayer) think about the words next time. WHERE do we Pray? Anywhere, walking along the street. WHAT do we pray for? – Thanks - Need - Homage to God- Protection - Healing - Help & Guidance - Forgiveness - Of and for Love- Peace- Knowledge- Inspiration- Problem Solving- Dedication - Silence- Meditation.
THE RESULTS OF PRAYER Unanswered Prayer - Do we know the wider picture? - Should God always give us what we want? We are His children and need to learn who knows best! War - whose side is God on? Nobodies perhaps, the enemy are still his children and are also learning. A wife/husband/partner leaves! What lessons have been drawn to that house? Prayer might be better reviewed with these things in mind - don’t be too specific. Ask ‘with God will’. Look back and see how your life has changed through your experience, and ask yourself if another persons experience would have taught you in the same way. PROJECTS Collect prayers. 2 Write prayers. 3 Read Prayers. Be willing to lead Prayers at an opportunity. Open circle is a good place to start. So in answer to the question “how to improve prayer? What do we reply? Pray with even more love in our hearts! Think about the other person being on the same path – just a different place on it. Is Gods will yours too? What are your thoughts on the subject? Let me know.... End.
