Latest from the 2008 Reading for all / Book List - see top right of this front page.
24. "Using your brain for a Change"
by Richard Bandler. ISBN 0-911226-27-3. This is a very interesting book
about the way we think, I have found it most useful for helping in
dealing with people and understanding the way I think too!
Illustrations are giving a light tone to this quite serious subject, Richard Bandler is the 'guru' of NLP [Neuro Linguistic Programming]
25. "Life Between Lives" -
By Michael Newton PhD. ISBN 13 078-0-7387-0465-4 & ISBN 10 0-7387-0465-2 'The journey of souls & Destiny of Souls'.
Well, what can I say - this book blew my mind! This extraordinary man
has been taking people back through past lives and into the spirit
world for 40, yes 40 years! As a hypnotherapist so many people ask me about this interesting subject .... read on...

Here is the letter from the Author of the Web Site:
Stella Rodgers CMIR DCHAc HPD MNCH
Dear Reader,
A question, are you the sort of person who would prefer to dip your toe slowly and gently into seemingly strange waters?
Maybe you'd only walk through the door of a church if it were raining? [Joke!]
And so you've found this website ... good for you!
Perhaps you'd like to get some information? Then you have come to the right place because this site is for just that. OR ...
Maybe you want to know if what you've heard is true about Spiritualism?
Are they all cranks?
So, what exactly do YOU know about this subject?
I must say there are some funny stories going about! ..... Both "funny ha ha" and "funny peculiar"!
Well, you can be a spiritual person without ever setting foot in a church - you don't need me to tell you that do you?
But,
if you are an intelligent person and have an inquiring mind, then
information is what you seek. I too have looked on the net for info
regarding spiritualism and come up a bit lacking in places, so it is my
sincere wish to fill those gaps with sensible helpful information for
you.
This
web site is following my own philosophy of 'knowledge is for all' and I
use the Internet, which is personifying this idea. "Actions speak
louder than words!" ... is an old family saying of ours.
There
will be some things that you agree with, good. There will be some
things you disagree with, that's fine too. But what we all must do is
follow our common sense - and spiritualism tells us all to do exactly
that, there is no creed and no dogma in this ‘ism’!
Nothing
is ever taken as 'read', DO question everything - we're not in the
blind trust business! But to find what you need just now, send a
genuine thought out for help, and spirit will provide. [I have done
this many times and am still surprised at the results!]
We
DO expect everyone to seek the truth of the fact that there is no
'death' by asking for that proof, EVIDENCE just like in a court of law,
this is what a Spiritualist Medium's job is all about - giving proof!
Let me say it again, PROOF is what we are all about!
This can come in a variety of ways.
Let
me put it like this, there are basically three doors we all pass
through to find comfortable church, our 'spiritual home', and whatever our reasons these are grouped in the spiritualist church as: Healing, Evidence and Philosophy.
On
the top left of this page there is the Main Menu and you will see
'Spiritualism' and if you click on there you will find the 3 sub-divisions named in
this way...
HEALING
is a big subject and you will find that there is a great deal in that
section, this is because like myself, so many people come into
Spiritualism through that 'door', needing help that they feel cannot be
received elsewhere.
EVIDENCE
or 'proof' has other names, ‘messages’ or ‘communications’ for example,
but it all boils down to wanting to know if our loved ones have arrived
safely in the next world, from whence we all came.
PHILOSOPHY
in the spiritualist movement is another name for teaching the
understanding, and this is the biggest subject ever! You will find no
preaching in a spiritualist church, for a medium does not give a
sermon, s/he will allow the spiritual mediumship to work in a most
natural way and talk spontaneously from the heart with guidance from
the Eternal Spirit. …
There are some mediums that are very good at this
part, they have had training through the schemes available, but please,
if you find by chance that you have ‘landed’ on another kind of medium
have patience and try again, each church has a different speaker every
week, you will soon remember the interesting ones!
To
quote Cecilia Meireles ... "There are people who speak to us and we do
not listen to them; there are people who hurt us and they don't leave a
scar, but there are people who simply appear in our life and they mark
us for ever."
May your marks be loving spiritual ones!
Now...
I recommend on the MAIN MENU at the top left of the page start with the FAQ's - frequently asked questions, if you've always wanted to know something but have been a bit too self-conscious to ask, the question is probably in there!
Also,
it won't hurt to ask spirit for guidance as you do that, so just think
of your Guardian Angel and say "Good help please!" and off you go...!
Bon voyage!
Stella
Dear Lord, help me to live simply, love generously, care deeply, and speak kindly - Amen.
About this site
June 2008
A lot of the information on this site is in the form of essays which are adapted from years of teaching. Some
are written for exams taken, and yet others are from reading books that
were brought foreword by spirit friends for the speaking part of the
job, or as we call it 'The Address', which is the philosophy of Spiritualism.
Personal experience from
readers - and I can't believe how much we all have in common regarding
awareness and development - is on TRUE STORIES.
There have been 2804 hits alone on the basic information page
about 'Spiritualism' [Main Menu top left side of the page] an average of 103 people each month, we take this to
mean that there are lots of people who are new to Spiritualism and have
found their way here, so please accept a special warm welcome from us to y'all !
There are now 14 Sections
of Articles, making 462 total
on the site with FAQ's etc [Frequently Asked Questions] and if
you think you can add to the interest we would love to hear from you -
in fact the jokes are from friends all over the place most of whom I've
never even met!
The 'Report on Spiritualism' has 1465 hits
-March '08 - this is on the front page top right side, and if you have
ever wondered why spiritualism as a religion is not taught in schools
you will find this official report might shed some light on that
subject.
1661 hits on the 'Poster to Copy for Friends' - and please do use this for spreading the word ...
1645 hits on the 'Reading For All' ... plus ...1634 on the 'Healing Books List' so you can see how useful these have been. 1028 hits on "Auras Chakras and Health" tells me that these subjects are of great interest too, with 1203 hits on the subject of Karma for the healing patient.
Healing definitely gets
the most hits of all the subjects on the site, and I would like any
stories/experiences you can share with us all, I find that when I pass
any experiences on regarding life and spirit matters it helps others such a lot.
There are 16 subsections on the Main Menu under the Articles Section.
For an overview of the TOTAL contents please go to the 'SITE MAP' also on the Main Menu.
The Forum is interesting so have a look there too.
Below the forum is a site
called "The Church Service" This is describing what you can expect at
Spiritualist Churches - I am so often asked this question.
Lastly is the Chinese
Traditional Medicine and Acupuncture Section - this is my 'day job' -
so I am sharing knowledge of different kinds of Healing there also.
ON THE MAIN MENU - Frequently Asked Questions
"MEDIUMSHIP" - "Other Methods of Communication" answers the following questions:
What is a 'Planchette'? Telekinesis? Ectoplasm? Materialization?' Direct Voice'? What are 'Apports'?
Are there other Methods of Spirit Communications?
How has education effected spiritualism ?
Happy digging!

About Stella Rodgers DCHAc CMIR. HPD MNCH.
Stella is a hypnotherapist registered with the
National Council of Hypnotherapists and is a NLP Licensed Practitioner; she
holds the Diploma in Acupuncture and Chinese Health Care Medicine registered
with the CMIR. She also has the Teaching Certificate with the City and Guilds
Institute, and is trained with the Minefields College of Human Givens. For
many years Stella trained with the National Spiritualist Union in all three
branches of the spiritualist movement, Speaking, Healing and Demonstrating,
holding the positions of Vice President and Healing Leader at the Brighouse
Spiritualist National Union Church, Martin Street, in Brighouse, West
Yorkshire, and the Idle Spiritualist Church at Bradford.
Stella started her healing
career as non vocational trainer in Cosmetic Therapy working in the area of
Remedial Camouflage, which is the training given to patients, both male and
female, with scars burns and birthmarks, it is also used in pre or post
operative conditions. She considers herself to be a truly holistic healer,
working with both the body and the mind
After
living in the north of England for 30 years she moved to the area of Norwich in
Norfolk. Stella is now in her 60’s - she is mother to three
grown up children, a grandson, and a great grand daughter.
She says:
"Spiritualism is a way of life
for many people and there are spiritualists and psychics in my
family, although we attended other churches as many people do, I did
not come into the philosophy, science, and religion of Spiritualism
till later in my life [40s].
I find it interesting all these years
later that even before I started training as a worker for the Spiritualist
Church my friends in the spirit world reminded me that I had worked
for the them many times over the years, I simply had not realised
that 'absent' healing was what I had been actually doing through
prayer!
"It seems a bit silly of me now,
but spirit have a way of helping us understand our paths even when we seem to
deny it, this makes us more aware of the pattern of
our lives, which we can live more effectively with their help if we
wish. In my wanting to help other people I did not realise that this was how
the spirit people were actually helping me - I was using prayer, visualisation and
meditation, for what I later found was called 'absent healing'.
"I first learnt to meditate
sitting in Quaker Meetings, this service is an hour of silence when anyone
inspired may stand and speak from the heart.
"Healing for myself being the reason I
first went into a Spiritualist Church, naturally it was the first
subject I started to study and later take exams in; they were the anatomy,
practice and philosophy of healing, the law and ethics. It takes at least three
years to become an Approved Healer, and as long again to be a Speaker and/or
Demonstrator. Of course you don't have to do all the courses. For example,
anatomy for the healing part can come a bit later on, I did that exam to be
more aware when looking at patients on the clairvoyant level."
She continues ...
"I found the Philosophy of Healing
and Mediumship so interesting that I carried on and did many more
courses with the SNU. In fact I got the 'study bug'!
"It's good to have a working
knowledge of the Law and Ethics in any job when dealing with the general
public, I am constantly worried by the naivety of folks that first enquire
about becoming a healer in this litigious age, it is not all just common sense,
and let’s face it – common sense can be quite rare!
"I know that we never stop
learning, if we are not too inflated with our own ego, and
if a person is at a stage in their lives where they
think they need a rest that's fine, we all need to rest at times, I tell
them to do what I was advised to do ... ask Spirit friends to guide them
to a book that will help the soul while they have that rest ... and
wish them happy reading!"
"The continuation of the healing
training in recent years has brought me to Acupuncture and Hypnotherapy,
and I have recently set up a clinic in my house in Norfolk. I find that
learning can be addictive, but have no intention of looking for a cure!"
Stella speaks at Sunday Divine
Services, this service includes the 'Speaking' part of the service or
'Philosophy of Spiritualism Talk', and also shorter weekday Services of
Demonstrations in just the Clairvoyance part.

Here's another Taoist snippet Chapter 64 of the Tao Te Ching (Ch'u Ta-Kao)
What is motionless is easy to hold;
What is not yet foreshadowed is easy to form plans for;
What is fragile is easy to break;
What is minute is easy to disperse.
Regulate a thing before it gets into confusion.
The common people in their business often fail on the verge of succeeding.
Take care with the end as you do with the beginning,
And you will have no failure.
Philosophy is for everyone - put simply it's a way of thinking, and we can all adjust that!
