We are free as a bird to follow our hearts ~ there is no 'creed' or 'doctrine' in the Spiritualist Movement and all churches are united under one 'banner', of the Seven Principles as follows ...

1. Fatherhood of God
2. Brotherhood of man
3. Communion of spirits and the ministry of Angels
4. Personal responsibility
5. Continuous existence of the human soul
6. Compensation and retribution hereafter for all the good and evil deeds done on earth
7. Eternal progress open to every human soul

These principles were given to us by Robert Owen through the mediumship of Emma Hardinge Britten in 1871. They were originally given as five principles but were later changed to seven for a better understanding of them.

In the winter time (when the clocks go back) there is just one service each week on Sundays at 3pm.

PLEASE NOTE: NO Saturday Evening service. 

 

In the summer (when clocks change again) there are 2 services each week

Saturday Clairvoyant Evenings 7.15pm Admission £3.00 inc Raffle

Sundays Divine Service 6.30pm with Freewill Offering.

Wix's Yard is off the High Street in the Town Center ~ follow the signs ~ you need to go along the one-way street from the LIBRARY (mini) Round-A-Bout towards the town center, you're now on "The High Street"

On this main High Street the church is behind the shops, on the LEFT between the old small shops ~ not the first posh new ones!

Should you miss the turning go around the one-way system, road off to the right, which is Norwich Street shown on the map with purple arrows ~ and back to the Library ...

ABOUT DEREHAM SPIRITUALIST CHURCH AND SANCTURY

We are a friendly group of people who like to hold meetings with a bright and cheerful atmosphere, we have songs that are modern and 'up-beat' in our song book for the Sunday (and Saturday in summer-time) services.

A recent new member confided to her friend that she liked the songs in our church song book which are modern, because they are "so unlike the dismal dirges" she remembers of past experience!

The church seats 50 plus and was refurbished in 2010 - Come on down and join us!

Spiritualism is a general section covering the basics, click on here and the 'drop-down' is divided into:

a) Philosophy / The Address which is for everyone, put simply it's a way of thinking, and we can all adjust that, can't we? Spiritualist Churches don't have 'sermons', the 'Speaker' (medium) gives an 'Address', which is the inspiration of the spirit and still mediumship, there is a big difference!

COMMUNICATION / MESSAGES

The purpose of communication (clairvoyance) from the world of spirit is evidence - as in a court of law - it is to verify the continuation of life after physical 'death', and not a trivial matter. This is not to be confused with so-called 'psychism' or 'fortune -telling'.

The future cannot be foretold simply because we all have free will, therefore nobody can tell us what another person could, should or might do, that would be giving up our God given free will.

Remembering that personal responsibility applies to everyone, including the spirit people, our friends in that world try to help us, with advice, in the direction that will benifit our continuous progress, and thus we hope to assist them likewise.
